Well, we're about T minus 9 days or so and counting, I am almost out of this school, and I almost wish I was in 8th grade again with this huge adventure that is high school looming above me. Those were simpler times, I enjoyed myself a lot more. Whatever though, now theirs and even bigger cloud above my head, and this one is the future... more importantly my future. And now I can't go camping with all of my friends. Mainly because of that huge party Mike threw... my mother doesn't trust him because he allowed that whole KEG in his house... what a bitch.
In other news... we (the band-o seniors and I) marched our final Lilac Parade yesterday and it couldn't have gone better. It was a great day outside, and all was well with the weather. I also tried out ear plugs for the first time, and they were pretty helpful. They allowed me to hear my exact hit among all the other noise from the snare line (which is quite loud). I did, however, wind up taking them out for the sheer enjoyment of the last energy boost that the whole band seems to get on the final leg of the parade route.
As I took them out, I was suddenly plunged into the noisey world that I had been secluded from for the majority of the parade. I could then hear everything, from Tim's perfect playing, to Michelle's shitty playing, to Jake's screaming to anyone and everyone that looks familiar (What up PK?!). It was intense, and it makes me glad that I got sick of the "privacy" of ear plugs because I would have never been able to witness the explosion of sound that occured as soon as Paul started the Spyder cadence (those of you who don't know them by name will know it as the "dun-dun-dudu-dun--dun-dun--du-dun"). It was incredible, I was witnessing these thousands of people all feeding off of our energy, and us feeding off theirs.
I am going to miss marching band the most, out of all the things I've ever done in high school. Thank you to all who have been a part of that, and good luck to all you people still envolved.
